Some benefits of being a member at the Wynnum Manly Men’s Shed:

  • Soulmates arrive in different forms and at different stages in our lives. With the number of members in the Men's Shed it is a great opportunity to find new friends with similar interests.

  • The Men's Shed provides an opportunity for everyone to play with big boy's toys. The Shed has lots of amazing equipment that is too big for people's garages or too expensive to afford. Once you pay your membership the machines are yours and you can now learn 3D printers, CNC Routers, Laser Cutters, Plasma Cutters and much more modern equipment that you now have the opportunity to use. The excitement of taking up a challenge on the amazing equipment and succeeding is always an exceptional thrill.

  • Every Wednesday The Shed holds it's weekly meeting beginning at 10am. Sometimes there are guest speakers. This is also a social day and card games 500, board games, Crib and snooker are played before and after the meeting. Others prefer to work on their projects in the sheds. Tea, coffee and nibbles are available beforehand and a tasty sausage sizzle is on after the meeting.

  • The Men's Shed is not only about making things using tools. There are outings, lunches, games, snooker, sausage sizzles, books, DVD's and much more.

  • The joy of learning new skills on the machines is a visible delight on people's faces and their sense of achievement is something to bask in.

  • Rod's Monday Meal is a weekly must. The day begins with people involving in their projects in the sheds. Others are in the Kitchen Shed where they help Rod prepare or play board games or chat about what's new on their devices. At 12.00 they all converge on the kitchen for Rod's sumptuous $7 two course meal. With free tea and coffee and of course most importantly vibrant conversation.

  • Working on a sausage sizzle is one of life's amazing experiences. To be part of a team that requires organisational precision to feed the masses during a human lunchtime feeding frenzy is an experience to put into your bucket list. Knowing that you have been part of a team that has earned the Men's Shed thousands of dollars to pay its bills evokes that valued inner feeling of giving back to the community.

  • The Men's Shed is donated loads of tools and equipment. There are also requests to empty out houses in this era of downsizing. All of this is sold through the Men's Shed Garage Sale. The goods are great as they are preloved and the bargains are phenomenal. You'll never want to pay full price again.

  • The Men's Shed has a guitar group and a band. All musicians are welcome to participate. Levels extend from beginners to experienced professional band members. You will quickly realise your comparative level and decide on which group you wish to belong in. Jam sessions are Thursday from 10am to 12.00. All levels welcome.

  • Helping each other is the philosophy that underpins the success of our organisation. Putting others ahead and paying forward is what has taken many of us a lifetime to learn and a few more lifetime's to master. Members are always willing to help others and engage in community work all in the name of kindness and generosity. As it will be done to you so should you do for others and you will truly be a great embassador for Men's Sheds.

  • The Men's Shed consists of hundreds of thousands of dollars of modern equipment. How you choose to use this equipment to benefit yourself and The Shed is up to you. It is your playground. It's perameters are as big as your creativity and imagination. Use it for your own good and for the good of others and you will be in tune with the goals of the Wynnum Manly and District Men's Shed.
