Safety and Induction Days

All new members are required to attend a Safety induction in either or both our wood and metal sheds.

No matter what experience or qualification new members have, all are required to be inducted on machine, operation, etiquette, and Safety. Inductions are conducted by qualified trainers and documented to ensure compliance with the workplace health and safety act 2011.

Inductions occur every Saturday morning- the metal Shed: 8:00 till 9:30 am, woodshed 9:30 am to 12 pm. The Wynnum Manly and districts Men shed has an inclusive culture where everyone has given the opportunity to grow and learn. Contact the shed to book in an induction.

Creativity and Safety are encouraged first and foremost. We believe that you never stop learning no matter what age you are at, and therefore we run numerous training courses throughout the year in a number of wood and metal arts.

All members working in the wood or metal sheds are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment PPE, utilise protective guarding, ensure working areas are kept clean and notify Shed senior leadership of hazards, equipment malfunctions, incidents, and risks.

All equipment is maintained by qualified technicians to ensure optimum performance and Safety.
