What you can do at the Shed
The Men's Shed is a great place to go to learn new skills or just have a chat. We have a fantastic wood working area as well as a metal working shed. CNC routers, welders, laser cutters, it's all here. Drop in for a bit of music or a fireside evening chat or get involved with some of our community projects.
If you need something done then TASK US. We love a challenge. Talk to one of our committee members to see if you qualify for a TASK today.
As safety is important at the shed, all members go through an induction with a WSHS officer. As well as this, there are members who can assist you in learning how to use the machinery in the Shed.
Occasional courses are also run. See below.
Have a cuppa and a chat
They’re a good bunch of blokes at the shed and there’s always someone there to have a chat with or find out what project they are working on.

Music
The Wynnum Manly and District Men's Shed increases in popularity as it boasts a diversity of activities for members in which to participate.
The music group jams every Thursday 10am and hosts a range talents and abilities from ex bandies to recent beginners still harbouring the dream of fame, fortune and immortality. Yeah right!
We have extremely accomplished players on acoustic, electric and bass guitars. Then add in an ex-drummer and a flourishing saxophonist and forming a band is much closer than a distant dream.
New members to the music group are most welcome. The jam session is flexible and often breaks into smaller groups so that we can get with others of our own level to learn and practise new skills. We all agree it is a great way to spend a Thursday morning.Lead Lighting
We have lead lighting materials and tools plus a few books about the subject.
Electronics
Need to fix an old printer or lamp. We have electronic equipment that could bring them back to life.
Games, books and DVDs
Join in a game of cards. Some members play Crib and 500. Drop down and shoot some pool with another shedder or have a game of darts or quoits. We also have a small book library and a selection of DVD movies you can borrow.
Cooking
We do run cooking classes on occasions. Please ask Rod for more information.
